New normal: an eternal garden

Our Vancouver and Seattle friends are gasping with joy at cherry blossoms and bulbs. Meanwhile we're on the porch, admiring the flowers that come and go all year. Some blooms are subtle, like this green orchid.

Others are so vibrant to be almost blinding in the sunshine, like the bromeliads that climb our frangipani tree.
30' (10 m) trees throw their flowers down carelessly.

Do I ever miss winter or the changing of the seasons? Nope.

I was a Winnipeg younger who roamed the family garden from late June to early September. Summer was always too short. Fall, winter, and spring were brutally cold. No thanks.
Bandung is a feast for the senses, an eternal garden ... all year long. What's not to love?
